In the past, I've used e.l.f. brushes and brow kit, which is the same as the much more expensive Benefit Browzing, except e.l.f.'s version costs $29 less. Their brushes are not M.A.C. brushes, by any means, but I'm not made of money and they work well and last a reasonably long time.
Back to the e.l.f. beauty box. It came with Hydrating Bubble Mask, Mineral Infused Face Primer, Lip Exfoliator, Matte Lip Color, and Baked Highlighter and Bronzer.
The first thing I tried was the Mineral Infused Face Primer. It went on like a dream. It's a gel that made my skin feel very hydrated and it went on smooth. I tried it under my powder foundation and under my liquid foundation. Under the powder foundation it was great! I loved it. Under the liquid foundation, not so much. My skin was too wet to take the foundation (even after I waited at least 5 minutes to let it dry) and I felt like I needed to reapply a few hours later when it usually stays on all day. Even though I don't like it under my liquid foundation, I'm thinking of using the Mineral Infused Primer as a moisturizer after I take my makeup off at night. It feels so good.
Next up, the Lip Exfoliator. Lip Exfoliator isn't something I've previously tried and I like it! Being new to Colorado, I'm not used to zero humidity and the dry, desert climate. I'm constantly applying chapstick and vaseline. My lips felt less dry and chapped the day after I used it. It does feel a little like sandpaper going on, but I'm pretty sure that's the point. I also asked Husband to try it and noticed a visual difference on his dry, cracked lips.
The Matte Lip Color is awesome! It's almost like a lip liner so I got very clean lines while putting it on. Also, it stays on for a long time. On Thanksgiving day, I kissed my nephew and my mom and my sister-in-law couldn't the get the lip color off for hours. I'll definitely be using this all the time and may need to buy it in more colors. I have 3 nephews to get kiss lips on.
Onto the Baked Highlighter and Bronzer. I've used highlighter in the past, but rarely bronzer. I'm not actually sure I've ever used it. I was kind of skeptical, considering I turn my nose up at anything that even remotely seems like contouring. My mind has been changed with this stuff. The bronzer made me look more alive and the highlighter made me look happy and shimmery (in a good way). I've used the product several times since it came in the mail.
Lastly, the Hydrating Bubble Mask. I have a mud bubble mask from Korea and was curious to see how e.l.f.'s compared. The texture of each mask is much different, but I really enjoyed e.l.f.'s version! My pores looked like they had an experience afterwards, which is all I can ever really say for things claiming to get rid of blackheads. It was very fresh feeling and my skin felt tight afterwards. I'll definitely use it again and force it on my friends.
Thank you for reading about my experience with my e.l.f. Beauty Box! I hope you get a chance to try out these reasonably priced, high quality products. I'm thankful e.l.f. allowed me this chance to try new things.
