My adorable nephew is obsessed with this Wicked poster. For him, Dorothy is the villain of The Wizard of Oz and the witch is the hero. He calls her Green Mimi and talks about her all the time. Nephew is very concerned about Dorothy's mistreatment of her and doesn't understand why she didn't just give the red shoes back.
For several years, I had my own Wicked poster in my childhood bedroom at my parents house. When we moved to North Carolina, I took the poster with me. Nephew has not been happy about this. He's requested pictures of Green Mimi and my mom told me he asks why I took her. He's adorable.
I visited Nephew recently to attend his fourth birthday party (he's getting so big!). I took him to get some ice cream, and as soon as we sat down, he started asking me about Green Mimi. He wanted to know why I took her and that she belongs at Kyky's house (what he calls my mom). We talked about it for about 10 minutes. He did not care that Green Mimi is mine and vehemently disagreed that she belongs with me in North Carolina.
Lucky for him, Husband and I got him his very own Green Mimi poster for his birthday! When he opened it, he was so excited! He carried the poster around and showed his friends. Everyone was like, "what is that?" I've never seen a child carry around a framed poster before, he's so cute.
So, there you go. Nephew now has his own Green Mimi. Hopefully the second poster will satiate his need to see mine.
